About me
Hello! I am Bruno A. Navarro, a biologist by training and a zoologist and paleontologist who has been fascinated from an early age by the life forms and environments that shaped Earth’s deep past.
I investigate the evolution of archosaur reptiles, with a particular emphasis on titanosaur sauropod dinosaurs. I seek to understand how their anatomical features arose and changed, how different lineages are related, when and where they originated, and which processes shaped their diversification. My research integrates different techniques and scales of inquiry, including comparative osteology, computed tomography, osteohistology, and cladistic and macroevolutionary analyses. By combining fossil anatomy with stratigraphic evidence, divergence-time estimates, and biogeographic models, I aim to connect individual specimens with broader patterns in the evolution of these animals.
Fieldwork and collections-based research provide the empirical foundation of these studies. My scientific career began early in my undergraduate training at the Museum of Zoology of the University of São Paulo. The experience I gained in fossil preparation, collection curation, exhibition development, and science communication continues to guide how I investigate and communicate the fossil record.
